The amagnetic FRP fencing systems manufactured by P-TREX have been chosen by Rail Baltica to fence the most demanding 24 km of the rail line, where weather and ground conditions require high level of resistance.
Rail Baltica is the largest Baltic-region infrastructure project in the last 100 years, a greenfield rail transport infrastructure project with a goal to integrate the Baltic States in the European rail network. The 10-year project will be 870 km long. It includes five European Union countries – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and indirectly also Finland. It will connect Helsinki, Tallinn, Pärnu, Riga, Panevežys, Kaunas, Vilnius, Warsaw. The rail line will provide benefits to all the involved players such as general passengers and travellers, Freight shippers and train operators, guaranteeing profit for both cargo and passenger rolling stock operators. Rail Baltica is part of The North Sea–Baltic Corridor is the number 2 of the ten priority axes of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
P-TREX-F- FRP fences by P-TREX isolates nearly 24 kilometers of the railway, which connects Vilnius, the Lithuania capital, with the Baltic Sea coast line. This area is characterized by demanding weather conditions, such as high level of humidity and cold; the ground is usually frosted and it is subject to modifications. Thanks to the well known features of the fiberglass material, P-TREX has been able to cope with the challeging requests and provided a succesful product. P-TREX fencing systems, made of FRP, are durable, resistant to high level of corrosion and electrically insulating. Light and easy to install, they offer excellent mechanical performance, especially where the ground conditions are difficult to manage.
The FRP material is characterized by its lightweight and modularity, which are just two of the main positive benefits of its use, both as a single actor and when combined with traditional materials. Because of these benefits, installation is easy, fast and economically profitable.
Another significant benefit in the lon g run, which becomes one of the most important factors from an economic point of view, is that the products boast high resistance to corrosion and do not require maintenance. Compared to traditional materials, it is not necessary to periodically carry out internal/external coatings. Continuous studies and tests have established that the ageing of this material is minimal. Compared to a structure made entirely of traditional materials such as steel, GFRP products are characterized by their durability over time.
P-TREX F consists in fences and gates made in fiber glass(GRP). Thanks to the excellent characteristics of the composite material and the twenty-year experience of […]
